In 2016, she regained popularity when she played the role of Ramvati, Sajan’s mother-in-law, in the popular Hindi comedy TV series ‘May I Come in Madam?’ on Sony SAB.

She has played comic roles in many Hindi TV shows including ‘Jijaji Chhat Par Hai’ (2018), ‘Surrogacy’ (2021), and ‘Saavi Ki Savaari’ (2022).
She is an avid animal lover and has many pet animals including some dogs and two ducks. She is often spotted feeding stray dogs.
In an interview, she mentioned that she started receiving acting offers after she gained weight. She said,
I wasn’t very fat or very thin, I was in the mid-range when I started auditioning for roles and visiting the casting agents. Not too thin, not too fat. I wouldn’t fit any criteria and get rejected because of it. Then, one of my friends suggested that I put on more weight, at least, I would be categorized in the oversized actors’ list. After that, I gained weight and I started getting work.”
She once mentioned that she did not consume tea or coffee and, instead, began her day with an herbal drink.
She is an avid traveller and a foodie.
In 2020, she created her YouTube channel. ‘Soma Rathod,’ where she shares daily life vlogs and posts behind-the-scenes videos of her TV shows. Her channel has gained over 24k subscribers.
She appeared in a supporting role as Dhaniram’s wife in the Hindi comedy-drama film ‘Pyar Mein Thoda Twist’ in 2022.
