Some Lesser Known Facts About Sobhita Dhulipala
Sobhita was 3 when her family moved from Tenali to Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Growing up, she was a geek and loner. She never dreamed of becoming an actress. In fact, she wanted to become a writer.
In an interview, Sobhita said she was afraid of failing in history exam when she was in Class 9.
While attending Little Angels School, she won second prize in an essay writing competition. She recalled the same in an interview and said,
That prize was the beginning of my winning streak.ā
When she was at Little Angels School, a boy named Prem liked her. He would sing the song āFeel My Loveā from the film Arya (2004) whenever she was near. He also rode his bicycle in circles around her on the school ground.
She participated in the 2010 Navy Queen Ball peagent.
After completing her schooling in Visakhapatnam, she moved to Mumbai in 2010.
During her college days, economists Kaushik Basu and Amartya Sen were her idols.
She is a trained Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dancer.
Towards the end of her graduation, Dhulipala enrolled her name in the Femina Miss India competition when her friend, who was interning at the Miss India office, asked her to audition for it.
In an interview, Sobhita said she entered the Miss India competition intending to clear just the first round. She wanted to show her friends that she was more than just a geek. Talking about the same, she said,
My friend was interning at the Miss India office and asked me to go for an audition. I just wanted to clear one basic round to show it to my friends. āIām in this mind space and I can do this, losersā. I cleared the first round and then I wanted to do more.ā
In 2013, Sobhita was crowned Pondās Femina Miss India Bangalore. She won the title of Miss Adventurous during the sub-contests.

After that, she won the title of Femina Miss India South 2013.
She won the titles of āiTimes Femina Miss Digital Divaā and āFemina Miss Talentedā during the sub-contests at the Femina Miss India 2013 competition.
She was crowned the first runner-up of Femina Miss India 2013.

She celebrated the 2013 World Environment Day by planting 30 saplings in her neighbourhood. She promoted environment conservation by taking an oath to use only paper or cloth bags.
Sobhita represented India at the Miss Earth 2013 in the Philippines. There, she won the titles of Miss Photogenic, Miss Eco Beauty, and Miss Ever Bilena during the sub-contents.

Soon, she started working as a model. She has walked the ramp at various prestigious events, modelling for numerous brands.

Another significant moment in her modelling career came in 2014 when she was featured in the Kingfisher Calendar.
Interestingly, Sobhita started having an identity crisis after winning the Femina Miss India 2013 title. In an interview, she said that the pageant had damaged her self-esteem. Earlier she was a āloner and uncoolā person, who used to seek validation from others. After winning the competition, Sobhita felt she was forced to please and entertain others. Talking about the same in an interview, she said,
Earlier, I would never focus on how I looked because I thought I was just āokā. So my focus was on being well-read, good in studies, school captain. My personality depended on what I read, not on some magical genetic thing. āIn Miss India, so much was about how you looked. These are the things I judged as a child. So I felt cornered because I was doing the same things. I didnāt feel good in my heart.ā

She came into the limelight with her debut Hindi film, Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016), which earned her a nomination for the Criticās Choice Best Supporting Performance at the 2016 Cannes. She was also nominated for the Most Promising Newcomer ā Female at the 2018 Screen Awards for Raman Raghav 2.0.
In July 2016, she signed a three-film deal with the renowned production house Phantom Films.
Other Hindi films under her belt include Chef (2017) as Vinnie,Ā Kaalakaandi (2018) as Tara, and The Body (2019) as Maya Verma.
In 2018, Mahesh Babu appreciated Sobhita for her performance in the film Goodachari via a tweet. Sobhita replied to the tweet writing āThank you!ā. The reply offended Mahesh Babuās fans who started trolling her, saying she should learn to respect a senior actor and shouldnāt just respond with a simple āThank you.ā
She rose to popularity with the Hindi web series Made in Heaven (2019) in which she played the lead role of a wedding planner named Tara Khanna. The show streamed on Amazon Prime Video. She was nominated in the category of Best Actress ā Dramaat iReel Awards (2019) for the role.

In 2019, she played the role of Isha Khanna in the Hindi spy thriller web series Bard of Blood on Netflix.
In 2020, she was featured in Anurag Kashyapās Hindi horror film Ghost Stories (2020) in which she played the role of Neha. She caught the public attention for a graphic scene in the film in which eats a foetus after suffering a miscarriage. A complaint was registered against Kashyap for the same.
She played the role of Pramoda Reddy in the bilingual action film Major (2022), which was released in Hindi and Telugu. The role earned her a nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actress ā Telugu at the South Indian International Movie Awards (2023).
