Siddharth is the son of popular film Shahenshahâs producer âBittu Anandâ and grandson of screenwriter âInder Raj Anandâ who wrote a number of films including âShahenshah.â
His father along with his childhood friend cum actor Rishi Kapoor made two another films after âShahenshahâ but both films didnât work and his father faced losses due to which his father left the entertainment industry and started his garment business.
A popular Bollywood actor âTinnu Anandâ is his uncle.
After 12th, he enrolled himself in âCA Instituteâ but he didnât do CA. Then, he started doing âCS (Company Secretaryship) courseâ but he dropped out after six months. He also applied to study at the âUniversity of Texasâ in Austin, Texas but at the last moment, he again changed his decision and didnât join the University.
Siddharth started his career in 2001 as an assistant director under âRahul Rawailâ for the film âKuch Khatti Kuch Meethi.â
In the same year, his father died due to a heart attack.
He made his directorial debut in 2005 with the film âSalaam Namasteâ, starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta . He also played a small role in that film.
He co-wrote the stories of several films like âHum Tumâ (2004), âSalaam Namasteâ (2005), âAnjaana Anjaaniâ (2010), etc.
He also worked as an executive producer for the film âHum Tumâ (2004).
He has signed a contract with âYash Raj Filmsâ and worked with that company for the three films like âSalaam Namasteâ (2005), âTa Ra Rum Pumâ (2007), and âBachna Ae Haseenoâ (2008).
He has a great tuning with music composer âVishal-Shekharâ as they together worked in his first four films and their all albums became popular.
