Her father was a soldier in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Her great-grandfather was in the British Army, and later he joined Indiaās freedom movement.
Her great-grandmother fought with Rani Laxmi Bai, an Indian warrior, against the British.
During her college days, Shyna Sunsara served as an Army cadet and won a gold medal from the President of India for excelling in rifle shooting.
After completing her formal education, she joined Orion Education Private Limited as a human resources manager in March 2013 in Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
Shyna Sunsara won the Mrs Gujarat and Mrs India Earth beauty pageants in 2017.

On 1 February 2019, Shyna Sunsara co-founded B Bansal Music Company and AB Bansal Production House in Lokhandwala, Andheri, Mumbai.
In May 2025, she came into the limelight when her twin sister, Colonel Sophia Qureshi , spoke to the public about Indiaās āOperation Sindoorā against Pakistan.

During a media interaction, Shyna Sunsara said that she and her family did not know that Sophia was going to do the briefing. She found out only when a relative called and told her to turn on the television. She said,
It was not only a proud moment for us, but India. Such a good answer our government and PM Modi gave.ā
As an environmentalist, she often participates in tree plantation drives organised in Vadodara, Gujarat. She is recognised for her initiative to plant 1,00,000 trees in Gujarat.
