Shreya was born into a middle-class Telugu family and was initially raised in Delhi, before spending 17 years in the Middle East, where she lived in 7 countries as her father used to work in aviation.
She has always been a performer as she has been acting since she was 4 years old, and has trained in theatre and dance, including Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, and Kathak.
After completing her schooling, she came back to India for her higher studies and her family shifted base to Delhi.
In 2008, she gave an audition for the Pantaloons Femina Miss India South when she was in her 3rd year of engineering and went on to become the 1st runner-up.

She was also a Miss India 2008 Finalist.
Her desire to become an actress made her join in Elite, a talent management firm in Delhi, before coming to Mumbai to pursue acting on advise of Bhumi Pednekar who was then an assistant casting director for Yash Raj Films.
During her struggling days in Mumbai, she started doing commercials for part-time earning but she got flooded with modelling offers and did commercials for leading brands like- Samsung, Fastrack, Airtel, Pantaloons, Safi, Provogue, Vogue Eyewear, Gitanjali, Dâdamas, Liberty Footwear, Bharat Matrimony, etc.
She got her first acting break with the Telugu musical coming of age film âSneha Geethamâ in 2010.
She is a voracious reader and writer who penned her first novel âFade to Whiteâ in 2016.Â
She became a web sensation after she played the role of âDevanshi Tailorâ in the web series âThe Reunionâ (2018).
In order to get her first Bollywood breakthrough in Emraan Hashmi starrer âCheat India,â she beat 50 girls at the auditions.
She is a fitness freak and likes spending hours in the gym.
