Some Lesser Known Facts About Shiv Shakti Kumar
After clearing the BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission) exam, he started working as a Deputy Municipal Commissioner in Begusarai in June 2024.
He had an affair with his 24-year-old niece, Sajal Sindhu for 10 years before they got married.
They fell in love while studying at the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
The couple belongs to the village Manua of Hajipur district in Bihar.
Shiv Shakti Kumar hit the news in August 2024 after it was revealed that he had married his niece.
According to reports, he met with Sajal Sindhu and a boy in his chambers on 12th August 2024 and later disappeared.
His cousin, Arun Kumar Rai, met with Municipal Corporation Mayor, Pinky Devi, and Municipal Commissioner, Satyendra Kumar Singh, and claimed that Shiv Shakti Kumar had kidnapped his niece.
The Municipal Corporation Mayor formed a 3 member committee to investigate the case. The Mayor claimed that Shiv Shakti had been on vacation without permission.
He was later suspended from his duties.
A police complaint was also filed against Shiv Shakti Kumar for kidnapping Sajal Sindhu by her family in the police station of Vaishali, Begusarai.
After the police complaint, the couple released a video denying the allegations of kidnapping.
In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Sajal Sindhu stated that it was a personal decision to fall in love and that the couple were being harassed by their family. She further said,
Falling in love is a personal decision. No one should interfere in this. There is not an iota of truth in the FIR filed against us by the Vaishali administration. After a love marriage, the family members have started harassing us. Difficulties are being created in my husband’s job and married life.”
During the interview, Shiv Shakti further demanded protection from the administration.
