He was born in Lahore to director Riaz Shahid Ā & TV/film actress Neelo.Ā His father was a Punjabi Muslim whereas his mother Neelo (earlier-Cynthia Alexander Fernandes) was a Punjabi Christian who embraced Islam.
His first acting venture was a boy scout bonfire.
