Some Lesser Known Facts About Seema Upadhyay
Seema Upadhyay is an Indian politician. She is the wife of senior Bahujan Samaj Party leader Ramveer Upadhyay who was a cabinet minister in Mayawatiās government in Uttar Pradesh.
Her son, Chirag Upadhyay, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 2 October 2020.

In 2000, Seema Upadhyay contested the Zila Panchayat election in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, and won.
In 2009, she was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Fatehpur Sikri constituency on a ticket of the BSP.
In 2014, she lost the Lok Sabha election from the Fatehpur Sikri constituency.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, she declined to contest the election from Fatehpur Sikri on a BSP ticket.
In 2021, she contested the Zila Panchayat election from Ward no. 14 in Hathras as an independent candidate following which she joined the BJP on 15 May 2021.

Later, she defeated her sister-in-law Ritu Upadhyay to become the president of Zila Panchayat in Hathras.

On 3 September 2022, her husband, Ramveer Upadhyay, died after battling cancer for a long time at Ujala Cygnus Rainbow Hospital, Sikandra, Agra.
