Atal made his Twenty20 debut on 7 September 2020, for Kabul Eagles in the Shpageeza Cricket League.
On 17 October 2021, Atal made his List A debut for Band-e-Amir Region in the 2021 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament.
Atal made headlines in the Kabul Premier League in July 2023 when he hit seven sixes in a single over and scored 48 runs in the over while playing for Shaheen Hunters.

Atal was included in Afghanistan’s squad for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament as a reserve player.
Atal led the Afghanistan A team to their first ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup title in 2024. He scored 368 runs in 5 matches and was named player of the tournament. He scored half-centuries in all the 5 matches he played in the tournament.
