Satya Nadella was born in a Telugu Hindu family.
Satya Nadellaâs paternal grandfather had migrated to Bukkapuram from Nadella village in Guntur district (present-day Palnadu district) of Andhra Pradesh.
He was part of his schoolâs cricket team in Hyderabad.
In 1988, Satya moved to the United States to pursue higher education.
Satya got married to Anupama Priyadarshini in 1992 and Anupama was Satyaâs fatherâs  Indian Administrative Service (IAS) batchmateâs daughter.
His wife was his junior at Manipal Institute of Technology and she was pursuing a B.Arch in the Faculty of Architecture at that time.
In 1992, Satya started working as an engineer in the American multinational technology conglomerate named âMicrosoft.â
Before joining âMicrosoft,â Satya used to work as a member of the technology staff of an American technology company named âSun Microsystems Incorporation.â
In 2007, Satya started working as the senior vice-president of research and development (R&D) for the Online Services Division and vice-president of the Microsoft Business Division.
In 2013, Satya Nadellaâs base salary was reportedly $669,167. Including his stock bonuses, his total compensation was noted to be around $7.6Â million.

Well, the H1-B enables spouses to come to the US while their husbands and wives are working here. Such is the perverse logic of this immigration law. There was nothing I could do about it. Anu was my priority. And that made my decision a simple one.â
