Some Lesser Known Facts About Sara Pilot
Her mother was a Christian and a nurse by profession. Even her sister-in-law belongs to a Hindu family.
In 1990, Farooq Abdullah sent her daughter, Sara, to London amidst the rising instability and unrest in the Kashmir Valley.
Sara met **Sachin Pilot ** (Former Union Minister and Congress leader and now, her husband) in London. The duo were already family friends and fell for each other.

Despite being family friends, there was a strong opposition from both the families regarding their marriage because of their religions. Sachin’s family accepted Sara anyhow, but Sara’s parents did not even attend her wedding. However, as time passed, the couple was accepted by Sara’s family as well.
After completing her higher studies, she worked as an intern under the United Nations Development Fund For Women.
Being a proponent of women upliftment, she established an NGO named Centre for Equity and Inclusion with co-founder Lora Prabhu in 2009.
After becoming a qualified Yoga teacher, she started teaching yoga in 2014 in a yoga school in South Delhi.
In 2014, there were rumours about the alleged strain in Sara and Sachin’s relationship. The reason was stated Sachin Pilot’s affinity towards a female friend of his. As per the reports, Sara started living separately in her father’s house in Delhi.
