  • He is a prominent figure in the Indian music industry.

  • Before starting his career as a lyricist, he used to work as a librarian in Delhi.

  • He met with an accident when he was young, due to which he lost his one leg.

  • His favorite song that he wrote was Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai for the film Shor (1972). The song was produced by Lakshmikant Pyarelal and sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh Chand Mathur.

  • In 1981, he wrote the songs for the film Kranti. The songs were loved by the audience and the film was the most successful film of that year.

  • In his career spanning over two decades, Santosh penned more than 109 songs for 26 films. He has penned songs for many veteran Bollywood actors including Raj Kapoor , Rishi Kapoor , and Manoj Kumar .
