She grew up in the small town of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh in a conservative middle-class household. Her parents originally belongs to Jharkhand. After doing his PhD from IISC, Bangalore; Sameen’s father moved to Aligarh to teach.
She started her career in journalism as a Rundown Producer at NewsX.

Sameen comes from a family of academicians and scientists with her and her sister being the first entrepreneurs in the extended family.
She was a journalist before moving to the corporate side. Her first corporate job was at OYO where she worked with Ritesh Agarwal – OYO founder.
Before launching her startup, she was well known for her marketing skills in the industry and was named the most Influential Content Marketer for 2019 by the World Marketing Congress.
At the start of her career, Sameen has modelled on a friendly basis for brands like OYO and Glam Studios – the salon chain.
