Some Lesser Known Facts About Sachin Sarjerao
Sachin Sarjerao belongs to a farmer’s family in Atpadi Taluka, Sangli district in India.
During his childhood, a bicycle incident led to a fracture in his left arm. The fracture did not recover and further became a reason for Gangrene and restricted the movement of his left hand.
While pursuing his graduation, he began playing Javelin Throw and found a passion for the game; however, during one of the college-level competitions, he suffered a shoulder injury.
The injury led to Sarjerao to shift from Javelin to Shot Put.
 During the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships, Sachin Sarjerao set a record in the Shot Put with a best throw of 16.21m at the men’s shot put F46 event.
He has participated in various international Shot Put tournaments including the 2022 Asian Para Games, the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships, and the 2024 Summer Paralympics.
