Some Lesser Known Facts About Rumeysa Gelgi
Rumeysa Gelgi was born with a medical condition known as Weaver syndrome which causes rapid growth and many other issues including a large forehead, widely spaced eyes, large and low-set ears, a dimpled chin, and a small lower jaw.

During the earlier years of her life, she suffered from various health problems and also had an accelerated growth. After four months of her birth, she had grown to 82 cm (32.28 in).
After she turned one, she had an open heart surgery to treat the PDA problems, she suffered from since birth.
Soon after her birth, she was also diagnosed with scoliosis for which she had surgery at the age of 17. During her surgery, a curvature, 2 rods, and 30 screws were fitted in her spine for the adjustment. Due to the adjustments, she can not sit longer than 2-3 hours at once.
She is the 27th person to have the Weavers syndrome in history. At the age of 2, she had grown to a height of 138 cm (4 ft 6 in).

Since a young age, she aspired to pursue a career in Technical Industry.
 Rumeysa had surgery for an umbilical hernia when she turned three.
In 2003, she began her treatment to stop her accelerated growth. She continued her treatment for three years, which according to her doctors was successful; however, she kept growing after that.
In January 2004, she had grown up to the height of 179 cm (5 ft 10 in).

In September 2005, at the age of 8, she began homeschooling and graduated from High School in 2016.
In March 2014, she became the Tallest Teenager Living (Female) with a height of 213.6 cm (7 ft 0.09 in). On 9 July 2014, she received her certificate in a special ceremony and her Guinness World Records title was announced to the world.
In September 2020, she began her training in web development. She has received various certificates in web development including one from Codecademy in June 2021, one from the World Wide Web Consortium in September 2021, and one from Harvard University in November 2022.
In May 2021, her height was recorded by Guinness World Records and she was announced as the tallest woman living with a height of 215.16 cm (7 ft 0.07 in).

On 19 February 2022, she set various records including the Largest Hands on a Living Person (Female)Â with a length of 24.93 cm, the Longest Finger on a Living Person (Female)Â with a length of 11.2 cm, the Widest Hand Span at the length of 22.6 cm, and Longest Back on a Living Person (Female) with a length of 59.90 cm.

On 28 September 2022, Rumeysa boarded a flight for the first time from Istanbul, Turkey, to California, America to spend time with other Guinness World Records title holders and shoot for the Guinness World Records documentary titled Rumeysa: Walking Tall.
