Rucha Inamdar comes from a family of artists, with her mother, elder brother, and maternal grandmother all being professional painters.
Ruchaâs father is a doctor and writer. He recently published his poetry book titled âMajha Malaâ; due to the restrictions during COVID-19, the book was launched online.

Ruchaâs parents are doctors hence she has spent much of his life in the premises of JJ Hospital, Mumbai.
Rucha gave her first mono-act performance at the age of 3 and acted in a play when she was in kindergarten. She participated in numerous acting competitions at the school, college, and inter-college levels.
As a student, Rucha demonstrated her brilliance by excelling both academically and in extracurricular activities.
Rucha Inamdar initially had no plans to become an actress and instead aspired to follow in her parentsâ footsteps and become a doctor. However, her mother encouraged her to try acting, and that is how she began her journey in the field.
Ruchaâs father initially had reservations about her pursuing a career in acting and wanted her to become a doctor. However, after seeing her talent in acting, he allowed her to follow her passion.
Ruchaâs maternal grandmother, Suman Vaidya/Mangala Amin, was a writer and wrote several short stories and books including âSwachhand.â

At her first audition, Rucha was told that she would need to be prepared to give a hundred auditions before getting a role. This made her feel a bit uneasy and she even thought to leave the idea of acting and puruse her dentist career.

Rucha made a strong impression with her acting in her first advertisement, which led to her landing three more advertisements on the same day. In one of the advertisements, the director even changed the script to make it fit for Rucha.
Rucha has been featured in advertisements for several brands including Rummy, Airtel, Dominoâs Pizza, Amazon, and Maggi. She has worked alongside superstars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, etc.

âChildren Of Warâ is based on the real incidents of the Bangladesh genocide and the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
In 2015, Rucha appeared in the Hindi film âUnder The Same Sunâ in which she played the role of Yasmeen.
In 2017, Rucha made her debut in the Marathi film industry with the film âBhikari.â In the film, she portrayed the lead role of Madhu opposite Swapnil Joshi.
Apart from this, Rucha has appeared in âWedding Cha Cinemaâ (2019), âOperation Parindeyâ (2020), and âNot Todayâ (2021).
âNot Todayâ (2021) has won several awards including the Best Feature Film Award 2022 at New Jersey International Festival and the Ray of Hope Igniting Flame Commendations Award 2021 at the London Asian Film Festival.
In 2022, she was signed for the film âMinus 31: The Nagpur Filesâ in which she played the lead role of a cop named Preksha Sharma. Talking about her role in an interview, she said,
âMore than taking inspiration from onscreen cops, I closely observed real-life cops. I used to sit with female police officers in police stations and tag along with them when they went patrolling. I used to have lunch with them and interact with them. Such interactions helped me bring a certain authenticity to my character.â
Rucha made her web series debut in Hotstar Specialâs âCriminal Justiceâ (2019) in which she appeared as Avni Parashar, a pregnant woman.
In 2022, she appeared in Disney+Hotstarâs âThe Great Indian Murderâ in which she portrayed the role of Ritu Rai.
