After completing his higher secondary education at a local school in Kashmir, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dream of acting. Along with acting, he also joined St. Xavier College, Mumbai, and completed his graduation.

Rockey began his acting career on television in 2016 with the series 24. This show was an Indian version of the American show Series 24. In the same year, he got his debut film Airlift (2016).
