Ritika Singh was an Indian blogger and social media influencer. On 25 June 2022, she was allegedly murdered by her husband with the assistance of four other people.
She was a popular food blogger and used to write blogs on travel, food, and fashion. She used to make Instagram videos on food recipes and fashion hacks.

She was also a popular social media influencer and had thousands of followers on Instagram. In 2021, she received the BOI Recognised Certificate.

During college holidays, Ritika used to visit her grandmother where Akash (her husband) used to live in the neighbourhood. It was love at first sight for Akash when he saw Ritika. He asked her for marriage, but she refused. After several refusals, Akash kidnapped Ritika for a week. Ritika’s parents took the police help to find her. After living with Akash for a week, she also fell in love with him. Akash convinced her parents and lied to them that he was working with the Indian Railways. Ritika’s parents agreed to their marriage. After a few days of their marriage, Akash told Ritika that he lied about the job. Later, Akash started harassing Ritika. He used to physically torture her for money. Ritika and Akash got separated. She demanded Rs 50 lakh from Akash as alimony. In an interview, when the local police was asked about the matter, they said,
In the interrogation so far, Akash told that he wanted to give evidence in the court that Ritika was living with his friend Vipul as a live-in partner. If he made a video of it and presented it in the court, then perhaps he would not even have to pay a compensation of 50 lakh rupees. Because the wife has already left her husband for someone else.”
On 25 June 2022, Ritika’s husband Akash had arrived at her apartment’s gate at 10:36 am along with two ladies and two men. In an interview, while talking to the reporters, the building’s guard Munna said,
Akash came with four people. When I asked about the ladies, he said that her name is Sunita and they were visiting someone on Flat no. 601. Within 15-20 minutes, a loud voice was heard of someone falling. People started gathering, so I closed the gate.”
After reaching the apartment, he had a heated conversation with Ritika. Reportedly, Akash pushed Ritika from the apartment’s balcony, she fell and died on the spot.
Reportedly, Ritika was living with her boyfriend Vipul before her murder; apparently, Vipul is married to a dentist named Deepali, and the couple has 10 years old son.
At the time of her death, she was residing in Flat No. 404, Om Shree Apartment, Agra. While talking to the local police, her live-in partner Vipul (whom she met through Facebook) said that he tried to protect her when her husband rushed into the apartment to attack her, but her husband tied Vipul’s hands and locked him in the bathroom.
In a media conversation, while talking about Ritika’s murder case, the SSP of Agra Sudhir Kumar Singh said,
The police received information about a woman’s death after falling off the fourth floor of the building. The building in question was located in the Nagla Mewati area. Singh added that when the police investigated the matter, they found that Ritika Singh was living with a friend named Vipul in Omshree Apartments. Her husband and his family members came to the flat and argued with her. A struggle ensued in which Ritika’s hands were tied, and then she was pushed off the balcony. She suffered severe injuries after the fall and was rushed to the nearest hospital. However, she was declared dead on arrival.”
Ritika was an avid animal lover and had a pet dog named Max.
