Rio Kapadia was an Indian actor, who predominantly worked in Hindi films and TV shows. He is known for his appearance in the Bollywood film ‘Dil Chahta Hai.’
He appeared in an episode of the detective-crime television drama series ‘Suraag – The Clue’ (2000) in which he played the role of Jasvendra Kapoor. The series was broadcast on DD National.
In 2000, he appeared as Vikram Ahuja in the popular TV drama series ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi,’ which aired on StarPlus.
He joined the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) in 2004.
He essayed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Right News Channel in the StarPlus superhero television series ‘Karma – Koi Aa Raha Hai Waqt Badalney’ (2004).
After making his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (2001), he appeared in the film ‘Chak De! India’ (2007) in which he played the role of the Australian commentator.

Rio Kapadia essayed the role of NCC MD Singh in the e biographical crime drama film ‘The Big Bull’ (2021), starring Abhishek Bachchan .
Some of his other films include ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ (2008), ‘Aakhari Decision’ (2010), ‘Shree'(2013), ‘Mardaani’ (2014), and ‘Happy New Year’ (2014).

He loved to make pencil sketches and had made portraits of several celebrities from Bollywood and Hollywood. He also loved to make drawings of old Ferrari cars and often shared them on social media.

The actor passed away on 14 September 2023, and his final ceremonies were held at Shiv Dham Shamshan Bhumi in Goregaon on 15 September 2023, at 11 a.m. Reportedly, in the year 2022, he was diagnosed with cancer.
