  • Reena Dwivedi is a government employee of from Uttar Pradesh who became famous after her photos, wearing a yellow saree, got viral during the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

  • In 2004, she got married to Sanjay Dwivedi, an employee at the PWD in Uttar Pradesh. However, he died in 2013 after a prolonged illness. Thereafter, the Uttra Pradesh Government offered her a job in the same department, i.e., PWD, where her husband had been placed. She was given the post of “Junior Assistant” in PWD.

  • Reena’s photos also came during the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Electins. However, at that time, those photos did not get viral. 

  • Reena was also on duty during the 2018 Municipal Corporation Elections in Lucknow.

  • After her photos went viral on various social media platforms, she starte getting offers to act in the Bhojpuri Films; however, she rejected them for giving full atention to her son.

  • In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections she was posted at the Booth No. 173 of Nagram, 40 km from Lucknow. It was there that someone clicked her photo in a yellow saree while carrying the EVM machine and other poll-related equipments.

  • After her photos went viral, a rumour got spread that the name of the woman in the yellow saree was Nalini Singh. After this, people started searching her on Google by typing Nalini Singh. However, later she was identified as Reena Dwivedi and not Nalini Singh.

  • She wasn’t just searched in India but even worldwide including Hungary, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Australia, South Africa, Switzerland, Singapore, Quatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE. United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

  • The news of 100% polling at her booth also went viral, while the fact is that there was about 70% polling at her booth.

  • She is very active on social media and often shares photos and dance videos of her on her social media accounts like- TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
