Some Lesser Known Facts About Ranvir Shorey
Ranvir Shorey shifted from Jalandhar to Mumbai when he was one year old.
He once shared that in his childhood, his family used to live in a two-storey rented apartment in Mumbai. Later, after his father’s films failed to do well at the box office, his family suffered major financial losses.

He was given the name Ranvir after the Indian actor & producer Raj Kapoor whose real name was Ranbir Raj.
At the time of his school admission, his name was misspelt as Ranvir instead of Ranbir.
During his school days, he used to participate in various stage plays.

In his junior college, he studied science. However, he changed his subject to arts in the first year of college.
At the beginning of his career, he worked as a segment director for the film production house Plus TV channel. He then worked in the TV show Mirch Masala TV show which aired on Doordarshan.
In 1993, he produced the DD National Hindi TV serial ‘Mumkin.’

He then joined Channel V and worked in the post-production department of the channel.
As a VJ, he has appeared in a few English TV shows such as ‘House Arrest’ (1998), ‘Saba’ (1999), and ‘Chat Room’ (2000); all aired on channel V.
He has acted in a few Hindi short films like ‘Saamne Yeh Kaun’ (1999), ‘Mera Dil Hain Hindustani’ (2000), and ‘Shame’ (2018).

While he was shooting for the 2006 Hindi film ‘Mixed Doubles,’ he became friends with the Indian actress Konkona Sen . Soon, they started dating, and later, they became live-in partners. They got engaged in 2008.
He appeared in a Hindi TV film ‘Kaam Ka Plot’ in 2010.
He can play various string instruments like guitar and sitar.
In 2014, he worked in the set-up of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Mumbai. Later, he left the party when founding members Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav were removed from the party. After a few years, he was seen supporting another political party Swaraj Abhiyan.

In 2024, Shorey shared that when he dated the Indian actress Pooja Bhatt , her father Mahesh Bhatt manipulated Shorey.
He once shared that he would participate in the reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ only when he would think to die. However, in 2024, he participated in Bigg Boss OTT Season 3. In one of the episodes, he shared that he was out of work, so he decided to participate in the show.
