Some Lesser Known Facts About Ramesh Babu
Ramesh Babu was a South Indian actor and film producer. He was known for being the eldest brother of the famous South Indian actor Mahesh Babu .
He used to take care of Mahesh Babuâs academic performance when Mahesh was in school.

As a child actor, he appeared in Telugu films such as âDongalaku Dongaâ (1977), âManushulu Chesina Dongaluâ (1977), and âAnnadammula Savalâ (1978). At the age of 14, in 1979, Ramesh, along with his younger brother Mahesh Babu, appeared in the Telugu film âNeeda.â
He then took a break from acting, and in 1987, he debuted as a lead actor in the Telugu film âSamraatâ in which he played the title role. He appeared in various Telugu films including âBazaar Rowdyâ (1988), âMugguru Kodukuluâ (1988), âKrishna Gaari Abbayiâ (1989), and âKaliyuga Abhimanyuduâ (1990).

He started his film production company âKrishna Productions Private Limitedâ in Hyderabad, Telangana, which was named after his father. Some of the Telugu films released under his banner are âArjunâ (2004), âAthidhiâ (2007), âDookuduâ (2011), and âAagaduâ (2014).
On 8 January 2022, he passed away after prolonged liver-related ailments. The news of his demise was confirmed on Twitter by the film production company owned by Ramesh Babuâs family âGMB Entertainment.â The tweet reads,
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu garu. He will continue to live in our hearts forever. In light of the current circumstances, we request all our well-wishers to adhere to the Covid-19 norms and avoid gathering at the cremation venue.â
On his demise, many South Indian celebrities shared their grief. The veteran South Indian actor Chiranjeevi tweeted,
My heartfelt condolences to Shri Krishna garu, @urstrulyMahesh and all the family members. May the Almighty give strength to the family to cope with the tragic loss.â
