On 11 May 2025, Rakesh Poojary suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at a pre-wedding ceremony of his friend, which was organised in Nitte near Udupi in Karnataka.
He was dancing at the event when he collapsed. He was then taken to a hospital, where the doctors later said he had passed away.
Reportedly, Rakesh Poojary was shooting for the Kannada film Kantara: Chapter 1.
