Rajesh Nair is an Indian notable filmmaker and producer, who is primarily recognized for his contributions to the Malayalam film industry. He has gained widespread recognition for his notable works in the Malayalam film industry including “Escape from Uganda” (2013), “Salt Mango Tree” (2015), and “Kalyanam” (2018).
He grew up in a middle-class family in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Rajesh’s wife is a director at Vaya Films and a national director at Miss India Worldwide Pageant.
Prior to his foray into the film industry, Rajesh Nair enjoyed a prosperous career as the CEO of Tembo Steel Limited, a prominent East African company specializing in the manufacturing of hot and cold rolled profiles. With unwavering dedication, Nair dedicated eight consecutive years to Tembo Steel Limited, holding two pivotal positions as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer. His remarkable contributions played a pivotal role in propelling the company to become Uganda’s second-largest exporter of steel products.
Following his tenure at Tembo Steel Limited, Nair transitioned to the role of Chief Marketing Manager at Roofings Limited, a major player in Uganda’s steel industry, where he further solidified his expertise during an additional six years. However, Nair made a significant decision nearly a decade ago to shift gears and pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Taking on the role of Managing Director at Impressario Uganda Limited, he entered the world of show business. This new endeavor allowed him to indulge his lifelong passion for movies and fulfill a personal dream. As the franchise holder for Miss India Worldwide in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, and a key organizer of Zee Mantra, an Indian lifestyle TV event, Nair’s background in business administration and international marketing proved instrumental in his rapid success within the entertainment industry.
In 2013, Rajesh Nair embarked on his journey as a film director, making his debut with the Malayalam film “Escape From Uganda.”
In that very year, he helmed the Malayalam film “Annum Innum Ennum.” Following that, Rajesh Nair directed a series of successful Malayalam films including “Salt Mango Tree” (2015), “Kalyanam” (2018), “Thrissur Pooram” (2019), “Eighteen Hours” (2021), and “In” (2022).

Additionally, he showcased his directorial prowess in the Bhojpuri film “Mahadev Ka Gorakhpur,” which garnered immense popularity and went on to have a pan-India release in six different languages.
Rajesh Nair has expanded his directorial repertoire by directing advertisement shoots for esteemed brands such as Samsung, SABMiller, and Chinmaya University.

In 2018, Rajesh Nair marked his producer debut with the Malayalam film “Kalyanam,” followed by his production ventures in the Malayalam films “Eighteen Hours” (2021) and “In” (2022).
For over a decade, he has held the position of company director in two prominent production houses, namely Vaya Films Ltd and Meru Motion Pictures.
