Rajendra Singh Yadav’s father, Ramjilal Yadav, established Shri Gaurisahay Ramjilal Yadav Government Primary School, the first school in village Thatwari in 1955.
The school was upgraded from primary to higher secondary school in 2006.
In 2008, he lost the MLA election by a close margin of 893 votes.
He is the first politician since the independence of India to become MLA from Kotputli, Rajasthan for two consecutive terms.

In January 2022, Rajendra Singh Yadav launched an online education program, Gyandoot 2.0. The program helps students learn and prepare for exams in Hindi language.
He talked about the program in an interview and said that the College Education Department has prepared e-content on different subjects. The program also offers live doubt-solving sessions.
After the exam papers of the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) were leaked, Rajendra Singh introduced a bill that punishes the culprits who are found cheating, using unfair means or leaking exam papers with a 10-year jail term and a fine of up to Rs.1 crore in February 2022.
He has a passion for travelling and has been to Singapore, Mauritius, UAE, Thailand, Malaysia, Switzerland, France (Paris), England, and Ireland.
He serves as the chairman of The Rajasthan School.

Rajendra Singh talked about the need to keep the activities of coaching institutes in check in August 2023 to control the suicide rates of students.
He also talked about the marketing tactics of coaching institutes which showcase only their success and said,
We are considering putting some checks on their hoardings and boards. They market their institutes by highlighting the toppers but don’t say how many students study at their institutes. If 20,000 students take coaching at your institute and, out of them, 30 are toppers, then this is something natural.”
In 2023, he lost his seat by 321 votes from Kotputli to his BJP rival, Hansraj Patel Gurjar.
