In 1994, he won the first Gladrags Manhunt Contest India and earned the title of âMr. India.â He later represented India at the Manhunt International 1994, held in Greece, where he secured the 4th runner-up position.

Before establishing himself as an actor, Rajat worked as a body double for Shah Rukh Khan in the Bollywood films âKaran Arjunâ (1995) and âDuplicateâ (1998).
After making his Bollywood debut with the film â2001: Do Hazaar Ekâ (1998), he appeared in the film âInternational Khiladiâ (1999) in which he played the role of Amit.
In 2002, he essayed the role of Rajesh in the Bollywood film âJaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahaani,â starring Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Sonu Nigam, and Suneil Shetty.
