| Controversy | In 2012, Rabia attracted controversy when a bakery worker filed an FIR against her and her husband for torturing and abducting him. According to the bakery worker, when Rabia visited the bakery, it was closed. She ordered some food, but he could not serve the food to her because the bakery was closed. Her bodyguards forcefully opened the gate of the bakery, and when she went inside, she started fighting with the bakery worker. After sometime, her husband, Ali Imran Yousuf, came to the bakery and started beating and kicking the worker. After the worker filed an FIR, and Ali Imran was presented in front of the court, the police said that the son-in-law of CM Shehbaz Sharif was not involved in the case, but a CCTV footage clearly showed him beating and kicking the worker. Rabia belongs to a family that has a political background. Her father, Shehbaz Sharif, was appointed as the Prime Minister of Pakistan on 11 April 2022. Her brother, Hamza Shahbaz Ā was elected as the Chief Minister of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab on 16 April 2022.

In 2022, the Lahore accountability court issued arrest warrants for Rabia and her husband, Imran Yousuf. The court also ordered the seizure of the movable and immovable properties of both the accused.
