Some Lesser Known Facts About Qazi Touqeer
Qazi Touqeer is an Indian Singer, Actor, and YouTuber.
His uncle Qazi Rafi is a well-known singer in Kashmir valley. While talking about his uncle in an interview, Touqeer said,
My uncle is my favorite singer and mentor since childhood.”

He was also fond of acting, along with singing, since childhood. In an interview, he said that he used to mimic several Indian film heroes in his childhood. His brother used to accompany him to shoot his mimic acts at Mughal gardens in Kashmir.

, Qazi said,Before 2005, when i first saw Abhijeet Sawant performing in Indian idol and gaining so much love, respect and huge success, i knew that this show is made for me only. With great confidence, i used to tell everyone that i would definitely go there and win, i m the future star of the show. I used to visualize myself, performing in the show and gladly in 2005 among thousands & lakhs of people, i got selected for the show “Fame Gurukul”. Though i have gone in danger zone several times but in the end, with all the love and support of people, i won the show.”
After winning the show “Fame Gurukul” in 2005, the former president of India A.P.J Abdul Kalam declared Qazi Touqeer as “The Hero of Kashmir.” Qazi Touqeer also made a record of getting the highest votes in comparison to any other contestants of the Indian reality shows back then.

While Touqeer was in Fame Gurukul, people used to compare Qazi’s looks with Hrithik Roshan as he had long hair and light eye color. However, in an interview, when he was asked whether he really had a Hrithik Roshan hangover. check sources Times of India Qazi said,
When I was on the show, people said that. I was glad because Hrithik is a good-looking, hot guy. But no, I don’t have a Hrithik hangover. I am Qazi Touqeer and I’m happy being that. And by the way, people now compare me with Sylvester Stallone. Of course, I have no idea why.”
Qazi had no formal training in singing before appearing in the reality show “Fame Gurukul”.
In Fame Gurukul, besides Qazi, Indian singer Arijit Singh was also one of the participants, who is among the top playback singers of India. Qazi Touqeer and Arijit Singh have been good friends since the show.

After releasing a few albums and songs, in 2009, Qazi appeared in a reality television show “Sarkar ki Duniya,” which was hosted by Ashutosh Rana .
In 2009, Qazi was offered a film named “Take Off.” While rehearsing for his debut film at Ganesh Acharya studios, Qazi fell & his neck got seriously injured.
In 2015, Qazi appeared in the song “Afghan Jalebi” from the film “Phantom,” featuring Katrina Kaif .
