Pukhraj Bhalla is an Indian film actor and singer. He is popularly known for his performance in the web series “Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree.” He is also known for being the son of veteran Punjabi comedian and actor “Jaswinder Bhalla .”
Pukhraj, in childhood, used to go on the movie sets of his father. While growing up in that atmosphere, he developed a keen interest in acting at a very young age. He used to participate in various acting and bhangra competitions during his school times. Soon after completing his formal education, he started practising the art and going for auditions in order to get a role in the film.

Pukhraj Bhalla made his acting debt with Pali Bhupinder Singh’s film “Stupid 7” which was based on the Punjabi musical play “Me and My Story.” The film featured Pukhraj as Sahab along with Millind Gaba , Jasmeet Kaur, Karanjit Singh, Saibi Sodhi, Gunit Cour, Sukhman Brar, and Janatpreet in lead roles.
Next, Pukhraj appeared on screen as Heera in “Ronde Saare Vyah Picho,” a Vijay Kumar Arora directed comedy-drama film released on 11 October 2013. He received huge appreciation from the critics for his acting skills and later became part of various successful films including “Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua,” “Vaisakhi List,” “Harjeeta,” and “Afsar.”
Pukhraj got the breakthrough for his acting career with Rabby Tiwana’s Punjabi-language comedy-drama web series “Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree.” The series showcased the life of a group of college students. Pukhraj was cast as Jaspreet Singh Randhawa aka Jass opposite Karan Sandhawalia, Sukhdeep Sapra, Amrit Amby, Prateek Singh Rai, and Karanvir Deol. The series was released on 15 September 2018 and gained huge popularity over the OTT platform. Pukhraj also did his singing debut with the series. He sang his first song “Zaalma” and stepped into the field of playback singing. His acting, as well as singing, was highly appreciated by the audience and he received huge critical acclaim for both.
Pukhraj has released a number of hit music singles over the years. Some from the list are “Countless” released under Speed Records, “Hostel Boliyan” and “Dil Haare” under Troll Punjabi.
Pukhraj Bhalla is often said to have an easier access into the Punjabi film industry. Reacting to the same he said,
People may think it’s easy being an actor’s son, but the comparison makes it actually harder. I understand that it’s a privilege to know people on the inside, but if you don’t have the craft, you cannot sustain in this industry.”
Pukhraj is an avid animal lover and has a couple of pet dogs at his home.
