She is the granddaughter of Pratap Singh Gaekwad who was the last ruler of Baroda till 1951, after that, Baroda joined the Dominion of India.
In 2008, she featured in Verve’s “Best dressed – 2008” hall of fame list.
In an interview, she revealed that her inspiration, or rather her style icon, has always been her mother, Asharaje Gaekwad.
In 2012, Femina listed Priyadarshini on its list of, “India’s 50 Most Beautiful Women.”
She believes that “living in a palace is a full-time job.” She works for the restoration of the Usha Kiran Palace and Jai Vilas Mahal from 9.30 am to 7 pm; as she does not want to sit idle.
It was in 1991 when her husband, Jyotiraditya Scindia saw her for the first time at a family dinner. He instantly fell for her, and in 1994, the couple got married. She was just 20 years old when she welcomed her first child, Mahanaryaman Scindia.
