Controversy Mowed Down by her Boyfriend Ashwajit Gaikwad

On 11 December 2023, Priya Singh was allegedly invited by Ashwajit Gaikwad
and his friends to a party at the Court Yard Hotel in Ovla, Thane, around 1 am. Upon reaching the venue at approximately 3 am, she saw Ashwajit with another woman, rumored to be his wife. Despite her repeated attempts, Ashwajit refused to have a conversation with Priya, after which his friend Romil Patil reportedly verbally abused her. When she asked Ashwajit to intervene and stop Patil's mistreatment, he allegedly responded by physically assaulting her - slapping, strangling, biting her hand, and forcefully pushing her away. check sources

Following the physical assault and argument, Priya Singh went to take her belongings from Ashwajit's SUV, where she was allegedly assaulted by the men. They reportedly attempted to ram the SUV into her from behind near a divider, and upon returning, intentionally ran the vehicle over her right leg before leaving the scene. During an interview, she shared the details of her accident and said,

"While they got into the car and started moving, I realised that my phone and purse were in the car. As soon as I reached the door of the Range Rover, I heard him (Ashwajit Gaikwad) say ‘uda de isko’ (ram into her) to his driver Sagar. He sped up immediately and I fell to the ground as I was hit by the left side of the car, after which he drove the rear left wheel over my right leg." check sources

Consequently, she sustained injuries to her stomach, back, and arms, with her right leg in a cast. She was admitted to the ICU at Infinity Hospital in Thane. Ashwajit Gaikwad, Romil Patil, and Sagar Shelke were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 279 (rash driving), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and others at the Kasarvadavali police station. check sources

"I had a four-and-a-half-year relationship with my boyfriend. We were completely in love with each other. I did not know earlier that he was married. Later, when I came to know, he told me that they (his wife and him) were not together anymore and that they had separated. He said that he wanted to marry me. I had been staying with him for a long time. When I went to meet him that night, he was with his wife. In an interview, Ashwajit Gaikwad disproved all the allegations made by Priya Singh, saying that the entire incident was an attempt to extort money from him. He said,

"Whatever has been portrayed is untrue. She (Priya Singh) is just a friend of mine. She came in a drunken condition to a hotel where I was involved in a family function and forced me to talk to her. When I refused, she started abusing me. She also assaulted my friends when they tried to intervene in the matter. When my driver, Shelke, started my car so that she would step aside, she fell.
