He is the fourth child to parents Damodardas Modi and Hira Ben Modi.
Prahlad serves as the president of the Gujarat Fair Price Shops Association, and the senior vice president of the All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Federation.

On 27 December 2022, Prahlad Modi and his family were on their way to Bandipur National Tiger Reserve, Mysore, when their car met with an accident near Kadakola. Reportedly, the accident occurred at 2 pm when their car crashed into a divider.
