Some Lesser Known Facts About Prabath Jayasuriya
Prabath began playing cricket at Christ Church College in Matale before joining the Lumbini College in Colombo.
On 6 December 2011, Prabath made his List-A debut in cricket for the Colombo Cricket Club against the Sri Lanka Army during the 2011/12 Premier Limited Over Tournament.
Prabath made his first-class debut playing for the Colombo Cricket Club against Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club on 10 February 2012 during the 2011/12 Premier League Tournament Tier B.

Prabath’s T20 debut came during the 2011/12 CSN Premier Clubs T20 Tournament on 26 March 2012 while playing for the Colombo Cricket Club against the Lankan Cricket Club.
Prabath was drafted by Jaffna Kings (formerly Jaffna Stallions) in the first season of the Lanka Premier League.
Prabath was part of the Sinhalese Sports Club squad that won the 2020–21 SLC Twenty20 Tournament, their first title since 2005.
Prabath won the Man of the Match award on his test debut after taking a five-wicket haul in both innings against Australia. His final bowling figures in the match were 12 wickets for 177 runs, the best bowling figures for a Sri Lanka player on debut and fourth best overall.
Despite missing the first test match against Australia, Prabath was the highest wicket-taker of the Sri Lanka vs Australia Test series 2022; he took 12 wickets in the series.
Prabath registered his second 10-wicket haul against Ireland in the home test series in April 2023; he took 7 wickets in the first innings and 3 wickets in the second innings.
