Some Lesser Known Facts About Phil Salt
Phil’s cricket journey began in St Asaph, at that time he played for North East Wales Under-11s.

At the age of 10, Phil moved to Barbados with his family.
Phil’s father played rugby and cricket but due to not getting much success in the sports, he later opted to become a property dealer.
Phil spent most of his time in England playing football, but later, when he shifted to Barbados he got more focused towards cricket.
Phil played for Barbados Under-15s and returned to England at the age of 15 after spending six years in the Caribbean nation.
At the age of 15, Phil won a cricket scholarship at Reed School in Surrey, a boarding school which helped him start his English cricket journey.
Salt played for Guildford Cricket Club in 2013 and joined the Sussex Academy for the 2014 English cricket season. Phil also represented Brighton and Hove Cricket Club in the same year.

In August 2014, Phil won the Player of the Month trophy in the English cricket season for his exceptional performances.
Phil made his List A debut in a 2015 Royal London One-Day Cup match against Essex; he was the 29th player to play for Sussex in the 2015 Royal London One-Day Cup.

Phil signed a junior professional contract with Brighton and Hove Cricket Club at the beginning of the 2016 English season.
 On 20 May 2016, Phil made his T20 debut in the 2016 NatWest t20 Blast against Gloucestershire County Cricket Club while playing for Sussex.
On 8 July 2016, Phil made his first-class debut for Sussex against Pakistan.

In May 2019, Phil was added to England’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for a match against Pakistan, he was brought in as a replacement for Dawid Malan who was injured but did not play.
In July 2021, after the original squad was withdrawn from the series against Pakistan after a few members tested positive for COVID-19, Phil was selected for the series where he made his ODI debut.
Phil was part of the England squad which won the 2022 T20 World Cup; he played 2 matches in the tournament, playing in both the semi-final and final of the competition.

In June 2022, Phil scored his first ODI century against the Netherlands; he scored 122 runs in that match.

Phil scored his first T20 international century against West Indies in December 2023 during England’s visit to the Caribbean nation.

The Delhi Capitals bought Phil for Rs. 2 crores in the auctions of the 2023 Indian Premier League season.
For the 2024 IPL season, the Kolkata Knight Riders team bought Phil as a replacement for Jason Roy who was not available due to personal reasons.
