Partho began his career in films as an assistant director in 1985. He initially worked in Bengali cinema before moving on to Hindi films.
In 1991, Partho Ghosh made his directorial debut in Bollywood with ‘100 Days,’ a suspense thriller featuring Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff . His work received praise from both viewers and critics.
In 1992, Ghosh directed the film ‘Dil Ne Ikaar Kiya.’ That same year, he directed the film ‘Geet,’ featuring Divya Bharti , Avinash Wadhawan , and Anil Dhawan .
