  • Parneet Kaur is an Indian archer, who won a gold medal in the women’s team compound archery event at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, in 2023.

  • Her father wanted her to be a sportsperson. Parneet was given the option to choose between fencing and archery. In an interview, while discussing this, he said,

    I have always been fond of sports and wanted my child to try her hands both in sports and studies so I moved to Patiala. Fencing and archery were my favourite sporting events so I took her to the trials and she got fascinated by ‘tirandazi.'” check sources The Tribune

  • Parneet’s success in archery can be largely attributed to her father, Avtar Singh. To offer her improved access to sports facilities, he took the decision to move from their city Mansa to Patiala, Punjab.

  • Starting from the fifth standard, Parneet has been wearing spectacles due to her poor eyesight; however, her father made sure that her eyesight did not get worse by ensuring she had a diet rich in leafy vegetables. In an interview, while talking about her diet, he said,
