Some Lesser Known Facts About Paoli Dam
Paoli Dam was born in a Bengali family in India, but her parental roots are in Faridpur (now in Bangladesh).
She was good at studies in her school and college days and also earned a few scholarships.
After making her television debut with the Bengali TV series âJibon Niye Khelaâ (1999), she appeared in the TV series âTithir Atithi,â which aired on ETV Bangla (now Colors Bangla). She played a negative role in the television series.
Her debut Bengali film âTeen Yaari Katha,â which was produced in 2004, was released in theatres in 2012.

Her first Bengali film to have a theatrical release was titled âAgniparikshaâ (2006) in which she played the role of Pooja.
She received immense appreciation for her performance as Madhabilata in the Bengali film âKaalbelaâ in 2009. She also worked as a playback singer for the film.
In 2010, she appeared alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee in the biographical musical drama Bengali film âMoner Manush.â She essayed the role of Komli in the film.

She played the lead role of Gunja in the Bengali film âPromotionâ (2013), starring Indraneil Sengupta .

Paoli Dam was featured opposite Parambrata Chatterjee in the 2015 Hindi film âYaara Silly Silly.â She played the role of Mallika a.k.a. Devanshi S Roy in the film.
In 2016, she appeared as Sucharita Sen in the Bengali television series âMahanayak,â which was broadcast on the channel on Star Jalsha. Her character in the TV series is based on the life of the popular actress from the 1960s-70s, Sucharita Sen.

Besides Indian Bengali films, Paoli Dam was also featured in a Bangladeshi Bengali film named âSwattaâ in 2017 in which she essayed the role of Shikha.

She played the titular role in the Hindi short film âMirchi Maliniâ from the anthology series âTeen Paheliyanâ (2018). The anthology series was aired on StarPlus.
She played the lead role in the Bengali web series âKaaliâ (2018-2020), which streamed on ZEE5. The web series was also made in Hindi language.

In 2022, she acted alongside Richa Chadha in the Hindi web series âThe Great Indian Murder,â which premiered on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. She played the role of Shabnam Saxena in the series.
Her performance as Indrani Roy in the Hindi web series âKarm Yuddhâ (2022) received huge praise from the audience. The web series was streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.
In 2023, she played the role of Saloni Debral in the Hindi web series âCharlie Chopra & The Mystery Of Solang Valley,â which streamed on SonyLIV.

In an interview, she revealed that she used to take part in theatre plays while studying in college, but at that time she never thought of pursuing acting as a career.
