Pankaj Kesari grew up in a middle-class family.
While he was studying in college, he auditioned for a TV channel and got selected as a VJ.
When he went to Mumbai to study CA, he got an offer to appear in the Bhojpuri film “Mai Ke Bituwa” (2005). In his debut film, he acted along with the Bhojpuri actress Sadhana Singh.
He worked at the Prithvi Theater Group for around two years.
Initially, he did not want to work in Bhojpuri films.
He considers Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan his idol in Hindi films and Ravi Kishan in Bhojpuri films.
In 2009, he worked in the Bhojpuri film ‘Parivar’ along with the Bhojpuri actor and politician Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua).
For his work, he has been honoured at various events.
