Some Lesser Known Facts About Om Prakash Mathur
Om Prakash Mathur joined RSS and became its Pracharak in 1972.
In his early political career, Om Mathur was groomed by Bhairon Singh Shekhawa, the 11th Vice-President of India.
Om Prakash has worked very closely with Narendra Modi . They have known each other since the late seventies when they were in the RSS.
He contributed his one month’s salary to the PM National Relief Fund during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 In 2015, residents of Barmer, Rajasthan, raised many hoardings, demanding to make the next Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Om Prakash distanced himself from those hoardings and called it a ‘sin.’
He likes to travel and has visited various places including Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai (U.A.E.), U.K., Ireland, and France.
He was appointed as the Chhattisgarh BJP in-charge in September 2022, a year before the assembly elections in the state.
