Some Lesser Known Facts About Nuwan Thushara
Nuwanās cricket journey began with playing tennis ball cricket with his friends, later he went on to play six-a-side tournaments for various local clubs starting from his hometown club Dedunu Thalawa, then to Mihindu CC, Weragoda Eksath, Gampaha Eksath before switching to Ragama Super 6s.
Nuwan was discovered by a local politician while playing in a six-a-side cricket tournament.
Nuwanās nickname āPodi Malingaā translates to āLittle Malingaā in Sinhalese, this is because his bowling action resembles the former Sri Lankan cricketer Lasith Malingaās bowling action.
Nuwan considers Lasith Malinga as his idol.
