Some Lesser Known Facts About Nitin Kumar
Nitin Kumar is an Indian Kabaddi player. He is known for playing in the Yuva Kabaddi Series (YKS) and the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).
According to Nitin Kumar, he faced a tough situation when he lost his father at a young age. However, he remained strong. Thereafter, his uncle, Tejpal Singh, became his inspiration to pursue a career in Kabaddi. Nitin once stated in a media conversation that his uncle helped him build a career in Kabaddi after the loss of his father.
In 2017, he joined the Narwal Kabaddi and Sports Academy in Haryana and began receiving professional Kabaddi coaching from Naresh Narwal, who is famous for being the coach of popular Indian Kabaddi player Pardeep Narwal. Once, in a media interview, he narrated that he began playing Kabaddi when he was studying in class tenth as he was not good at studies. Nitin Kumar said,
I started playing kabaddi after the 10th standard. I was not that good in studies. I am from Haryana and I started training at Pardeep Narwal Academy under coach Naresh Narwal.”

In 2021, he played three matches for the K7 Kabaddi Stage Up 2021 championships.
In 2022, Nitin Kumar began participating in the Yuva Kabaddi Series and made history as the first player to score 500 raid points with a raid strike rate of 73.90% in 2022.

After winning the Yuva Kabaddi Series with Hampi Heroes in Ranchi in 2022, Nitin Kumar was considered one of the most successful players in the league’s history. In a conversation with a media house, he once shared that his talent got recognition after he began playing in the Yuva Kabaddi Series at the age of 20. He added that he learned from his mistakes after watching YKS matches on YouTube. He said,
I was around 20 years old. After playing locals, I came to know about YKS. My talent got more recognition at this stage. After the match, I would watch highlights on YouTube and see what I had done wrong. I worked on those mistakes after that.”
