Some Lesser Known Facts About Nissar Khan
Nissar Khan is an Indian actor, who mainly works in Hindi films and TV serials.
While he was studying in school, he enjoyed watching theatre plays. He used to closely observe the performances of the actors in the theatre plays. Once, while he was in college, he came to know about the auditions for budding actors. He accompanied one of his friends to the auditions. The casting team selected him because they liked his voice. They asked him to read a short news segment that lasted for 20 seconds in a play.

Interestingly, one of his classmates, who had the main role in a play, had to go abroad to study. Nissar was asked to step in as a replacement for his classmate. As his classmate went to Russia for higher studies, Nissar took on the lead role, and the play ended up winning many awards. After that, he continued to participate in more plays during his college years.
Nissar started his career as a theatre artist. For a few years, he has been performing in a famous Hindi theatre play ‘Mughal-E-Azam: The Musical.’ In this play, he portrays the character of Emperor Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar.

In 1997, Nissar Khan appeared in an episode of the TV mini-series ‘Bombay Blue;’ aired on Channel 4.
He has appeared in several Hindi TV serials like ’24’ (2013; Colors), ‘Mahabharat’ (2013; Star Plus), and ‘Court Room: Sachchai Hazir Ho’ (2019; Colors).

He often plays the role of a police officer named Adil Khan in the episodic TV series ‘Crime Patrol.’ During an interview, Nissar Khan shared that his portrayal of a police officer in Crime Patrol became so popular that people started recognizing him as a real police officer. In an interview, while sharing such an incident, he said,
One person asked me to help him vacate his shop from a difficult occupant. A lady came home and asked me to convince her alcoholic husband to quit drinking. I told her I ‘act’ as a policeman, I am not one. She still insisted I talk to her husband. Then, once were shooting in Jaipur, when a real cop came to me and said, “We’ve started enjoying respect in society because of the show. People now believe there are honest cops too. You’re like what Arun Govil (Ramayana) was – an idol!”

Nissar Khan has also played supporting roles in several Hindi films like ‘Keher’ (1999), ‘Lakshya’ (2004), ‘Don’ (2006), ‘Airlift’ (2016), ‘Veerappan’ (2019), and ‘IB 71’ (2023).
