Nirisha Basnett was raised by her parents in a joint family in Nepal.

Nirisha Basnett moved to Mumbai in 2018 in order to pursue her career in acting.
In 2018, she started modelling with modelling agencies like Scandinavian Makeup Academy in Bangkok and TOABH Talent Management in Mumbai.
In 2019, Nirisha was cast in the Nepalese drama film titled ‘Jana Najani.’

Nirisha Basnett’s first job was as a video jockey intern with the Nepalese TV channel named ‘Himalayan TV.’
During the initial days of her living in Mumbai, sometimes she didn’t used to have money to eat food. Nirisha Basnett used to go to the ISKCON Temple in the evening to eat one meal.
Nirisha considers her parents her biggest inspiration. She grew up watching them and being on the sets and listening to their stories. That’s what attracted her towards the world of cinema.
In 2020, she was cast in the Indian Hindi-language historical comedy-drama titled ‘Tenali Rama’ which was based on the life of the legendary Telugu poet Tenali Ramakrishna. It was aired on the Sony SAB TV channel.

Nirisha Basnett had a cameo and played the role of the advisor/secretary of the King of Him Dong on ‘Tenali Rama’ (2020).
In the same year, she modelled in the L’Oréal Majirel Hair Color.
In 2021, Nirisha Basnett was cast in season 3 of the romantic-thriller web series titled ‘Hello Mini’ in which she played the role of Ruhi. The series was premiered on MX Player.
