Before starting her work as an actress in the film industry, she worked as a playback singer for Tulu films. Some films in which she lent her voice as a playback singer are Dabak Daba Aissa (2016) and Madipu (2017).

She prepared for the Indian civil services exam while studying at the Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering in Mangaluru.
In January 2015, she joined Amagi Media Labs in Bengaluru as a team lead in ingest operations and worked until October 2016.
