Some Lesser Known Facts About Nikita Luther
Nikita Luther grew up in a military household in New Delhi.
Nikita was always passionate about mathematics and loved solving puzzles and equations from a young age. In school, she was the kind of student who eagerly sat in the front row with her hand raised during math class.
Luther worked as a brand manager at Red Bull from 2008 to 2009.
She worked as a summer intern at Standard Chartered from June to July 2009.
In 2009, Nikita joined Philip Morris International as a marketing manager and worked there for one year.
At first, Nikita was unsure about playing poker, as she thought of it as just another form of gambling. However, her perspective changed when she discovered online poker and realised it was all about logic, strategy, and solving complex problems.
Nikita first got into poker through the online platform Zynga. She played it just for fun while continuing to work in marketing after earning a Bachelor of Commerce.
Her first experience with real-money poker came in 2015 at a friend’s birthday party, where she ended up beating everyone at the table. That game sparked her interest, and she soon decided to take up poker professionally.
In 2015, Nikita earned her first title by winning the Ladies’ Event at the India Poker Championship held in Goa.
In October 2016, she became the Chief Operating Officer of Poker Sports League and held the position until 2019.
In October 2016, she also started working in brand promotion and marketing at Adda52.com and continued till November 2019.
In February 2017, Nikita competed in the Macau Poker Cup alongside Raghav Bansal and emerged as the winner. She became the first Indian woman to win an international poker title.

In June 2017, she competed in the Aria Poker Classic Main Event in Las Vegas and secured 5th place, earning a reward of $65,000.
In 2018, Luther partnered with Giuseppe Pantaleo to win a Tag Team event at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, making her the first Indian female poker player to win a WSOP bracelet.
Over time, she competed in several domestic and international tournaments and built a name for herself in the professional poker world.

In 2019, she finished in second place at the Aria Poker Classic WPT500 and earned approximately $110,000.
Nikita started working in the brand promotion and marketing team at Quadrific Media Pvt. Ltd. (#SpartanPoker) in May 2020 and continued in the role until November 2022.
In February 2023, Nikita Luther won her first APT title at the Hanoi series by finishing first in the Super Hold’em Hyper Turbo event, earning a prize of VND 85.37 million (₹2.99 lakhs).
She began working in the brand promotion and marketing team at Gamoski Networks Pvt. Ltd. in March 2023.
Nikita later became the brand ambassador for Natural8 India.

In 2025, Luther appeared as a contestant on the reality series ‘The Traitors India,’ which streamed on Amazon Prime Video. She emerged as the winner of the show along with internet personality Urfi Javed ; the duo shared a prize money of Rs 70.5 lakh.
