Nikhil Thampi comes from a Malayali background and has a family business of aviation.
He was keenly interested in human behaviour, so he pursued a degree in psychology.

Once, a close friend of him decided to debut at LFW (Lakme Fashion Week), and she emotionally asked Nikhil to help her in setting up her look, which was Nikhil’s first step in fashion.
He applied to gen-next at LFW (Lakme Fashion Week) and out of 900 odd applicants, only 8 were selected and Nikhil was one of them.
He never had formal training or any mentor in the fashion industry, he learned everything about fashion on the job by interacting with the karigars.
He is obsessed with sunglasses and has a collection of 375 sunglasses.
He loves driving with his two dogs.
