Nicolas Vansteenberghe grew up in Jacksonville, Florida.
He grew up in the suburbs of Jacksonville and began swimming competitively from a young age, training with Loggerhead Aquatics, Florida.
While studying at Bartram Trail High School, Nicolas Vansteenberghe represented the school in swimming competitions and became known for his performance in backstroke and medley events.
As a senior in high school, he finished 11th in the 100-yard backstroke and 13th in the 200 individual medley at the Florida High School 3A State Championship.

In the Florida state championship, he swam the leadoff leg of the 200 medley relay, helping his team secure 7th place. Additionally, he swam the third leg of the 400 freestyle relay, where the team finished in 5th place. His contributions played a significant role in Bartram Trail achieving the overall title of state runners-up.
In 2017, Nicolas started pursuing a career in modeling. He joined DT Model Management, California, and Next Management in Miami.
Since then, he has worked with various brands, including Guess, Prada, and New Balance.
While studying at Florida Atlantic University, he joined the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and actively participated in fraternity events and activities.
Before making his television debut, Nicolas did multiple jobs as a registered nurse, a professional model, and a catering staff member.
In 2025, Nicolas appeared in a reality show, Love Island USA 7.
On the show, he was coupled up with Isabelle-Anne Walker, Cierra Ortega , and Olandria Carthen .
He went viral on the show when he reacted with the words “Mommy? Mamacita!” after contestant Huda Mustafa revealed that she was a mother.
During Casa Amor, he was dumped as no girl in the villa picked him as a partner.
Later, he coupled with Olandria Carthen and continued on the show together, where they became finalists and finished as first runner-up.
