Nick Kroll grew up in a conservative Jewish family in Westchester.

While he was studying at The Mountain School in Vershires, Vermont, he developed an interest in hiking.
During his college years, Nick started doing improv comedy and stand-up. He later decided to study media.
Nick began his career as a writer for Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show. He has also written the script for MTV’s show Human Giant.
After making his Television debut with the comedy show Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Nick appeared in the TV shows Cheap Seats without Ron Parker, Samurai Love God, and Human Giant.
In 2007, he played the role of Nick Hedge in the television show Cavemen. The show aired on ABC Sitcom and Nick’s character in the show was praised by all. Although the show went off air after seven episodes, Nick considers it the most important role of his career.
In November 2008, Nick toured with Aziz Ansari on his Glow in the Dark comedy tour in the United States.
In 2010, he played supporting roles in many popular films including I Love You, Man, Date Night, Get Him to the Greek, and Dinner for Schmucks.
He has also played prominent roles in films like A Good Old Fashioned Orgy (2011), Sausage Party (2016), Loving (2016), Sing (2016), Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017), The House (2017), Uncle Drew (2018), and Operation Finale (2018).
He also studied theatre at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in NYC and LA, where he participated in various plays.
He has also co-hosted the stand-up show Welcome to Our Week with Jessi Klein.
In 2013, he developed an interest in character-based comedy and got his own sketch show on Comedy Central entitled The Kroll Show. He was also the creative Executive Producer of the show. The show ran for three seasons on Comedy Central.
Nick, along with Jules Shell and Roger Bennett, published the book Bar Mitzvah Disco in 2005.
In 2016, Kroll toured the U.S. with John Mulaney in a show titled Oh_,_ Hello, where they performed in character as Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland, respectively. The show debuted on Broadway on 23 September 2016, and ran for six months, receiving positive reviews. The Broadway performance was filmed and released on Netflix in 2017.
In 2017, Kroll co-created, wrote, and starred in Big Mouth, an animated series on Netflix that follows a group of 7th graders navigating the challenges of puberty. Two of the main characters are modelled after Kroll and his childhood best friend, Andrew Goldberg, with the characters named after them. Kroll voices several characters, including Nick, Coach Steve, Maurice the Hormone Monster, Lola, Rick the Hormone Monster, the Jansen twins, and Lady Liberty, along with various other minor and one-off roles.
He is often spotted consuming alcohol on various occasions.

Nick Kroll actively supports blood cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
He is well known for playing the character of Bobby Bottleservice in many of his online videos for the Funny or Die website, including the Ed Hardy Boyz and an audition tape for the MTV show Jersey Shore.

Kroll played a guest role on Parks and Recreation called ‘The Douche’. He also played ‘Douche’ in the movie Sausage Party.
