While studying in college, she started taking part in theatre plays and has participated in various commercial theatre plays.
One of her popular plays include William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night directed by Atul Kumar. It was later staged in Hindi under the name Piya Behrupiya. The Hindi version of the play was streamed on ZEE5 in 2019.

In 2014, Neha played a supporting role in the Hindi film Gulaab Gang.
Next, she appeared in the Hindi-language film Panchlait (2017).
In 2019, she appeared in two Bollywood films Luka Chuppi (as Janaki Shukla) and Dream Girl (as Chandrakanta Kirar).
In the same year, she was featured in ZEE5’s web series Purush.
Saraf has also been featured in the Hindi short film Dhol, Ganwar, Shudra, Pashu Aur Nari (2012).
In 2023, she played the role of a cop in the Netflix film Kathal – A Jackfruit Mystery. The story of the film revolves around a young police officer, who takes up the bizarre case of a local politician whose prized jackfruits go missing.
