Narendra was fascinated towards acting since his childhood as he hailed from Koilakh, a village in Biharâs Madhubani that has its own tradition of theatre since 1923.Â
His father and brother were regular participants in village theatre.
Though his father wanted him to become an IAS officer, when he saw his sonâs inclination towards acting, he encouraged him, after which Narendra enrolled in a diploma course at Shri Ram Centre.
When he first came to Mumbai, he started doing ad films and featured in more than 150 projects.
In 1996, he won the contest âStar Trackâ held by ABCL (Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited).
Though he appeared in several films and TV shows, he gained fame with his role as Dr. Hilal Meer in the film âHailderâ (2014), after which he got many big projects.
His voice is very similar to actor Parikshat Sahni.
His wife Pankaja Thakur is the former CEOÂ of CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification).
He was a good friend of Kunal Khemmu âs father, Ravi Khemmu (Director).
